While I was learning the morse code, I naturally thought about where to use morse code on air.
After some research, I have decided for QRP, because the simplicity of starting this way was more than fascinating to me.
I have also decided to use the device QCX + 5W CW transceiver kit
. I have ordered the device for the 80m band with great enthusiasm.
While falling asleep that day, I went through it all over again. I had to think of the formula for the antenna length, lambda/2 - and oh dear, where should I set up this 40m long antenna wire in the garden without …
In the morning at 7:00 am I have immediately changed my order to the 20m band, which has been confirmed within a few hours by a friendly e-mail; what an excellent service!
OK, now I have this nice little transceiver.
The next step is the antenna; which took me another 3-4 weeks (including joiningantenna basics course at Lutz-Electroncis
) until I have decided to design an end-feed wire antenna for the 20m band (details see here.
)
In order to realize this antenna project, I have accquired the following items:
- A book about antennas
- Antenna-Analyzer, FA-VA5
- Antenna wire
- Unun 1:9
- Antennatuner (manuelly)
- HF wire for channeling through windows
- Various wires and items to connect to
- A base and a bamboo stick (as inconspicuous as possible)
Where shall I place all these new items and devices …
I had to remodel my office and I have put together and I have set up a new craft soldering shack table. Since I have created everything with funds from a well-known Bauhaus, it took another two weeks to complete all of this.
